1. Operating environment requirements

Optical fiber transmission cables can be used in harsh environments, but the laser itself has higher requirements for the use environment.
Define condensation:
Put the object under a certain temperature, humidity and pressure environment, and gradually reduce the temperature of the object. When the temperature around the object drops below the "dew point temperature" of the environment, the moisture in the air gradually reaches a saturated state until water dew is deposited on the surface of the object. This phenomenon is dew condensation.

Define the dew point temperature:
Dew point temperature: From an application point of view, the temperature at which "condensation water dew" can be deposited from the air around the working environment is the dew point temperature.

2. Avoid condensation
1. Avoid condensation inside and outside the laser without air conditioning
Note: Damage to the laser caused by condensation in the internal environment is not covered by the normal warranty of the laser.
If you use a laser that does not have an air conditioner and is exposed to the working environment, once the cooling temperature is lower than the dew point temperature of the environment inside the laser, moisture will be deposited on the electrical and optical modules. At this time, if no measures are taken, the outer surface of the laser will start to follow the dew. Therefore, once you see condensation on the laser housing, it means that the internal environment has condensation. The work must be stopped immediately and the working environment of the laser must be improved immediately.
Precaution:
Configure an independent air-conditioned room for the laser.

Laser requirements for cooling water:
The laser cooling water temperature must be set above the dew point temperature of the most severe operating environment.

2Avoid condensation inside and outside the laser with its own air conditioner
Note: The laser with its own air conditioner may still cause environmental condensation.
When using a laser with its own air conditioner and exposed to the working environment, the cooling and dehumidification effect of the air conditioner will greatly reduce the dew point temperature of the environment inside the laser. Generally, the refrigeration temperature of the industrial air conditioner is set to be the same as the cooling water temperature.

-When the ambient temperature is lower than 38℃, the industrial air conditioner can maintain the safety of the environment inside the laser, but there may be condensation on the surface of the laser housing. If condensation does not form flowing water droplets, it is safe. If there are a large number of flowing water droplets and there are obvious water stains on the ground around the laser, a safe non-condensing working environment must be established for the air-conditioned laser.
-When the ambient temperature is higher than 38℃, the cooling capacity of the industrial air conditioner is not enough to maintain the safety of the laser's internal environment, and condensation will still occur in the internal environment. Over time, the external environment will also follow the condensation. Therefore, there should be no obvious heat source around the laser, and the hot air outlet of the water cooler should not face the laser.
In order to eliminate the risk of condensation in the environment of the laser, it is recommended to configure an independent air-conditioned room for the laser.

3. Avoid condensation in the environment of the processing head
Note: If the processing is abnormal when the season changes or the temperature changes greatly on the day, you can check whether there is condensation in the environment of the processing head.


Three, use the dew point temperature query table

Note: Training end users to use the dew point temperature look-up table can effectively reduce the risk of condensation in the environment of the laser and the processing head.
The left side of the table is the current working environment temperature, and the top side is the current working environment humidity. The intersection temperature of the temperature and humidity parameters is the "dew point temperature" in this environment. That is: in this environment, any object below this dew point temperature will have condensation on its surface. Therefore, the adjustment principles are as follows:
1. The low temperature water should be adjusted within the range of 26~28℃, and should not be lower than the dew point temperature of the environment inside the laser.
2. Set room temperature water at 30°C.

Otherwise, the working environment needs to be improved according to the dew point temperature look-up table.

Four, summary and suggestions
Since condensation is an objective physical phenomenon, it cannot be avoided 100%, but we still need to remind everyone that when using the laser: the temperature difference between the laser's operating environment and its cooling temperature must be minimized.

summer:
It is recommended to set the cooling water temperature of Raycus laser at: ≥28 ℃
The laser cooling water temperature within IPG3000w is recommended to be set at: ≥26 ℃
The temperature of IPG3000w and above is set according to the site conditions, and it is recommended to install an air-conditioned room.
