Today,we will detail the process of adjusting the parameters on a 30,000W laser cutting machine to successfully cut a 55mm thick aluminum plate.

 

 

Nozzle Selection

First, we need to choose the appropriate nozzle. For cutting such thick aluminum plates, it is recommended to use the largest diameter nozzles, such as 5.0, 7.0, or 10.0.

 

Cutting Speed

Given the thickness of the aluminum plate, the cutting speed will be relatively slow. We suggest setting the speed to 0.3.

 

Cutting Height

The cutting height range should be set between 0.3 and 0.5. We recommend setting the cutting height to 0.3.

 

Air Pressure Setting

For a 10.0 nozzle, the air pressure is typically set around 5 to 6. We recommend setting the air pressure to 5.

 

Laser Power

The laser power should be set to full power. However, when cutting aluminum, special attentionmust be paid to the frequency and duty cycle.

 

Frequency

For cutting such thick aluminum plates, the frequency should be set between 200 and 500. We suggest setting the frequency to 200 for a 55mm thick plate.

 

Duty Cycle

To ensure the quality of the cut surface and reduce burrs, the duty cycle should be set between 38 and 48. We recommend setting the duty cycle to 40.

 

Focus Adjustment

The focus should be set to a negative value. Based on our experience, we recommend setting the focus to -25.

 

Piercing and Lead-In Process

During the piercing process, some slag may be produced. In such cases, the lead-in process can be used by activating the lead-in descent cutting parameters.

① Cutting Speed: Set to 0.1.

② Duty Cycle: Same as the cutting parameters, set to 40.

③ Frequency: Same as the cutting parameters, set to 200.

④ Stabilization Distance: Set to 0.

⑤ Lead-In Height: Set between 5 and 10, we recommend setting it to 8.

 

After setting these parameters, click confirm to start cutting the 55mm thick aluminum plate.
